Seeing the Symmetric Difference
Bruce Torrence

We visually explore the symmetric difference set operation applied to symmetric arrangements of simple planar regions, such as disks, triangles, and squares. As the number of regions increases, their symmetric difference can form stunningly complex geometric patterns. I will be happy to provide the Mathematica source code used to produce the figures in the paper and the interactive diagrams in the video presentation if you send me an email.
